Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

March 23, 2020

Due to the declared State of Emergency in New Brunswick, access to the clinic is currently restricted. We are able to take VISA and Mastercard payments over the phone (Debit VISA cards will not work that way, unfortunately).

If you do need food or medications, call us and we can take payment over the phone. When you arrive to pick it up, please remain in your vehicle and call us, our staff can bring everything out to you. We are not able to accept cash payments at this time.

We are still only seeing sick pets and emergencies at this time, as well as time-sensitive vaccinations and boosters. If you have any concerns or questions, please call us at 506-458-9223.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during these difficult times.

March 19, 2020

We are fielding a lot of questions about what changes we are implementing in response to the rise of COVID-19 in our community, and the state of emergency declared today. Rest assured, we are still here for you and your furry family! We are, however, making some changes to the way we operate.

-- Though we are implementing a number of changes, staff will still be present during normal business hours. We are asking clients to please CALL AHEAD for all reasons – prescriptions, food, appointments, emergencies, etc.

-- We are able to accept Visa and Mastercard payment over the phone, and are encouraging people to do so when able. Items purchased this way can be brought to you outside the clinic upon your arrival, to eliminate the need to enter the building. For those who do not have credit cards, debit is strongly preferred.

-- If you have travelled outside the province, if you are ill or experiencing respiratory symptoms, or if you have been around any such persons within the last 14 days, we ask that you do not bring your pet in person to our clinic. Instead, please have someone you trust bring your pet on your behalf, and be available to speak to the veterinarian by phone.

-- If your animal is ill, do not wait to call! We understand that emergencies and acute situations arise, but in the interest of public safety we cannot have a lobby full of people. If your pet is developing an issue, please call sooner rather than later so we can find a safe time to fit them in.

-- Please do not bring additional people to the clinic when you come. Our staff can help handle your pets.

-- WALK-INS ARE NOT PERMITTED AT THIS TIME. If your pet needs to be seen, please CALL THE CLINIC to be fit in; you will not be able to walk in and wait to be seen.

-- EDIT: Due to the state of emergency, we are trying to reduce the number of clients in the clinic to only those necessary. As such, we are asking people to defer annual physicals for pets if they have no health concerns.

This is a trying time for everyone. We're grateful for your patience and understanding as we move forward.

Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, cash, and personal cheques.
